Abstract
This study deals with the impact of alter-modernism on Saudi plastic art, "hybrid art," in three aspects: national identity, acceptance of multiculturalism, and freedom of the artist. An analytical descriptive curriculum was used and a questionnaire was submitted to a sample of plastic artists and art learners of the Faculty of Design and Arts, Princess Norah University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The sample size was one hundred and eighteen participants. The study aims to elucidate the impact of alter-modernism (hybrid art) on Saudi art by preserving national identity, accepting multiculturalism, and respecting the freedom of the plastic artist from the point of view of artists and art learners. Results reveal that there are statistically significant differences in the acceptance of multiculturalism and the freedom of the artist, while the percentage is lower in the preservation of identity and patriotism. A general observation is that the effects of different cultures are an explanation for the emergence of new cultural forms and artistic patterns in the world of multiculturalism. the melting of national identity under alter-modernism, but rather artists unite as a result of travel, migration, and other influences. The study contributes to shedding light on a set of recommendations relevant to the study's topic.
