About This Journal

Journal of Art, Design and Music (JADM) is a peer-reviewed bi-annual journal covering all sub-disciplines of Art, Design & Music. The Journal of Art, Design and Music (JADM) aims to improve the quality of scientific research in the fields of Art, Design, and music, applying international standards. The journal also gives researchers from all over the world the opportunity to publish international research on Arts, Design & Music.

JADM is published by Helwan University (HU), which is a public university established in 1975, and located in Cairo, Egypt. Although HU is just 46 years old university, its faculties such as “Applied Arts”, “Fine Arts”, “Art Education” and “Music” were established in 1839, 1908, and 1936 respectively, far before the official HU establishment. Therefore, HU is considered to be a unique model among Egyptian universities as it encompasses the oldest and the most prestigious Art, Design, and Music faculties in the MENA region.

JADM publishes original research, review articles, theory papers, book review, and case-study peer-reviewed papers. The JADM themes include many scientific fields covering a wide range of sub-disciplines including topics in humanities, social sciences, and specialized areas of science and technology. It is distinguished by research seeking to solve problems that need analytical, innovative, and creative studies, as well as philosophical approaches. Contributors are invited to submit their original researches and papers to contribute within the various and many sub-disciplines, which include (but are not excluded to); Art (Architecture, Drawing & Painting, Décor, Graphics, Sculpture, History of Art, Pottery, Metal Artworks, Wooden Artworks, Textile Printing, Crafts, Art Curricula and Teaching Methods, Foundation of Art Education, Psychology, Technologies of Education, Criticism and Art Appreciation). Design (Design Theory & History of Design, Interior Design, Environmental Design, New Media and Interactive Design, Textile and Fashion Design, Industrial and Product Design, Ceramics and Sculpture, Photography and Cinema, Future and Cultural studies, and any design research across all domains of application, including creative design methods and innovative technologies). And Music (Arabic Music, Western Art Music Composition, Theory and Composition, Performance, Musicology, Pedagogical Science of Music).

JADM is an open access journal, therefore, the articles will be freely available to everyone. Authors can submit and publish free of charge. All articles are permanently free for everyone to read, download, copy and distribute. Permitted reuse is defined by the following user licenses:

Archiving

JADM is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico, the two leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term. Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.
