Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful tool in various design fields, including sculpture and architecture. Through its inferential strategies for solving design problems, AI has enabled computers to perform tasks previously only possible by skilled sculptors. This can be seen as a simulation of the designer's skills, driven by intelligent learning based on an exploratory search approach. AI's search for solutions closely resembles that of a sculptor, and in some cases, it can even identify the most appropriate solution methods, recommend design problem-solving options, and demonstrate their application based on theories and techniques. This research focuses on the impact of AI techniques on the sculptor's skills and their application in the plastic treatment of sculptural work. It raises the question of the effectiveness of AI in the development of contemporary sculpture design. The research aims to uncover the culture of using AI in the plastic treatments of contemporary sculptural work and to highlight the obstacles to the adoption of AI tools by contemporary sculptors in design practice.
